Forging ahead with Australia-Indonesia digital economic partnership

On 1 February, the Australian and Indonesian Governments will jointly hold a Digital Forum in Jakarta.  The forum will explore six areas for potential cooperation: digital health, fintech, cybersecurity, linking start-up ecosystem, smart government, and creative digital industries.

Some topics to be explored:

Understanding the Indonesian Innovation Ecosystem

Indonesia has a rapidly growing and evolving start-up ecosystem. While the Australian commercial presence in Indonesia’s digital economy is small, there are strong people-to- people linkages. This session brings together leading players in Indonesia’s start-up space with strong connections to Australia. They will share their insights on Indonesia’s digital economy and opportunities for Australian partners, followed by Q&A.

Workshop: “Finding new solutions through Indonesia-Australia Collaboration”

Delegates from Australia and Indonesia will work in small stream groups to discuss opportunities and find innovative solutions to challenges across the streams: Cyber Security, Creative Industries, Fintech, Digital Health, Connecting Start-up Ecosystems, and Smart Government.

The focus of the discussion will be on finding new pathways that can be unlocked by bringing together Australian and Indonesian ideas and capabilities.
